Live-in caregiver
You live in the home of the person you care for, with board and lodging. It's the most sought-after job for those coming from abroad who want to save.
Hourly
A few hours a day or a week: company, shopping, cooking, help with personal hygiene, accompanying to the doctor. Ideal if you already have a home in Italy.
Night shifts
Care during the night for people who can't be left alone. Often combined with another daytime job.
In the request, the family writes what kind of help they need: company, preparing meals, personal hygiene, mobility, night supervision. You see everything before you apply.
How to build a good profile
Families decide who to contact by reading the profile. Five things that help you.
- A clear photo, showing your face, in good light. It doesn't need to be professional.
- Your experience, in concrete terms: how many years, what kind of people you've cared for, what you can do (for example: cooking, mobility support, help with hygiene).
- Languages: English, Italian and your level. If you understand Italian but speak little, write it: better than saying nothing.
- Availability: live-in, hourly or nights; from which date; in which city or area.
- A few lines about yourself: why you do this work, what matters to you. Families read and want to know who you are.
Your language, your community
Many caregivers working in Italy come from the Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Sri Lanka and other English-speaking communities. Italian families know this experience well, and many are happy to start in English while you learn Italian. On MyBadante you can say in your profile that you speak English: families see it right away.
If you already have experience in Italy, say it clearly: the years you've worked, the type of care (elderly people, people with reduced mobility, nights), the cities where you've worked. If it's your first time, that's fine: write what you can do and when you're available.

Yes. Today MyBadante is free for caregivers and families: sign-up, profile, applications and chat, with no hidden costs. We take nothing from your salary. If we ever add optional paid services in the future, we will announce it in advance.
Do I need to speak Italian?
It helps, but it's not required to sign up. The app and the site are in English. In your profile you state your level of Italian, and families see from the start which languages you speak.
How do families contact me?
You see the requests from families in your area and apply with a message. The family replies directly in the chat, inside the app. There is nobody in between.
Can I look for live-in, hourly or night work?
Yes. In your profile you choose your availability: live-in, hourly or nights. Families filter by these options.
Is MyBadante an agency?
No. We are not an agency: we are a free platform that connects families and caregivers. Contract and contributions are agreed between you, directly.
